RankGrid ("RankGrid," "we," "us," or "our") runs the website at rankgrid.ai and the services and tools connected to it. This includes the free SEO audit at audit.rankgrid.ai, the RankGrid Scanner desktop app, our client platform login, and our local SEO and website services. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. RankGrid is based in Richardson, Texas, and serves clients in the United States.

If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our website, tools, or services.

Information you give us

We collect the information you enter yourself. This happens when you fill out a form, request the free audit, download a free guide, book a call, contact support, or buy something. Depending on what you do, this can include:

Your name, email address, and phone number
Your business name and website address
The city or area you want to rank in, and details about your business you choose to share
Any message or notes you send us
Payment details you enter at checkout (handled by our payment processors, not stored by us)

When you run the free SEO audit, we also collect the website address you submit and generate a report about that site so we can email it to you and follow up.

Information we collect automatically

When you visit our website, some information is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies. This can include your IP address, general location (such as city and region), device and browser type, the pages you view, how you got to our site, and how you interact with pages. We use this to understand what is working, improve the site, and measure our advertising.

Cookies and tracking technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies from the following providers:

Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-DJSCQK7WS1), including Google Signals, to measure traffic and understand how visitors use the site. Google may combine this with data from signed-in Google users to report on demographics and interests.
Google Ads conversion tracking, including enhanced conversions. When you submit a form or complete a purchase, we may send Google a hashed (scrambled and non-readable) version of information such as your email address or phone number so Google can match a conversion to an ad click. We do not send Google your information in plain, readable form for this purpose.
Meta Pixel (ID 1371248705198916) to measure and improve our Facebook and Instagram advertising and to show relevant ads. This may include Meta's advanced matching, which sends Meta a hashed version of information such as your email or phone number.
SearchAtlas, an SEO optimization tool that adjusts and measures page content.

These tools set their own cookies and may act as our service providers or, for advertising, as independent parties. You can control cookies through your browser settings and through the opt-out choices described below.

Advertising and retargeting

We advertise on Google, Facebook, and Instagram. The tracking above lets us measure which ads lead to leads and sales, and lets those platforms show our ads to people who have visited our site (this is called retargeting). Under some state privacy laws, this kind of sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You can opt out of it using the choices in the "Your privacy choices" section.

To respond to you, provide support, and follow up about our services
To send marketing emails and messages you can opt out of at any time
To measure, run, and improve our website and advertising

How we share your information

We do not sell your information for money. We share it only with the service providers that help us run RankGrid, and only as needed. These include:

Analytics and advertising: Google and Meta (as described above)
Our customer and marketing platform: a third-party provider we use to store contacts, send email and text messages, manage bookings, and run our client login. We refer to this as the RankGrid platform.
Payment processing: Stripe (for services and website purchases) and Lemon Squeezy (for the RankGrid Scanner app). They handle your payment details directly under their own privacy policies; we receive only what we need to fulfill your order, such as your name, email, and what you bought.
Email and hosting: the providers that host our website and deliver our email

We may also share information if required by law, to enforce our terms, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a business sale or transfer.

The RankGrid Scanner desktop app

The RankGrid Scanner is a desktop application, and it handles data differently from our website.

Your scan data stays on your machine. Scan results, projects, keywords, and history are stored locally on your computer (for example, in ~/Library/Application Support/RankGrid/ on Mac). We do not receive or store this data.
License check. When you activate the app, it sends your license key and a machine identifier to the Lemon Squeezy License API to confirm your license. No scan data is included.
Map scanning. The app checks Google Maps directly from your computer. We do not proxy, log, or access those requests or results.
Optional AI analysis. If you use the in-app AI feature, reports are sent from your machine to the Anthropic (Claude) API using your own API key. We do not store or access your key or those requests.
Updates. The app checks for updates and sends only your app version and operating system. No personal data is transmitted.

The RankGrid Scanner app itself does not include website-style analytics or advertising trackers.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide our services, follow up with you, meet legal and accounting requirements, and resolve disputes. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous. You can ask us to delete your information sooner using the contact details below.

Your privacy choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of targeted advertising or the "sale" or "sharing" of your information. To make a request, email support@rankgrid.ai and we will respond as required by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Global Privacy Control: we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your information where applicable

Data security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, and we rely on established providers such as Google, Meta, Stripe, and Lemon Squeezy. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

RankGrid is a business service and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party links

Our website and emails may link to other sites we do not control, such as our booking tool, checkout pages, and social profiles. Their privacy practices are their own, and we encourage you to read their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may be announced on this page or by email.
